It’s hard to believe that the holidays are in full swing!
I’ve been taking it easy lately and enjoying the time off. My parents, Tim and Tina Delaney, and I went to the banquet last weekend and we had a really good time. It was nice to get out and see everyone in such a relaxed atmosphere! Congrats go out to Austin Dillon on winning the rookie of the year and to Matt Kobyluck for the championship. Next year we hope to be right up there with them guys.
We got another six inches of snow last night so we’re up to about a foot here in New York. It’s great weather for doing something I really love - snowmobiling. The guys that work on the car and I have been doing a lot of it lately! Even Jamie, my crew chief, went out and bought a sled. It’s a lot of fun and great way to get away from the regular routine of school and working in the shop!
Jamie and Cole left for North Carolina and their putting a new clip on the car. Other than that, right now is all about preparation and getting things ready. It’s funny how it seems like there’s so much time to get ready, and I’m certain, April will creep up on us very quickly.

I was looking forward to getting the schedule at the banquet, but that didn’t happen. I guess they are trying to tie up a few loose ends before they do. We were told that there will probably be 12 races in 2009 – one less than last season. Maybe NASCAR will be able to add to that before it is formally released. It’s my understanding that Adirondack (the most local track for me), Iowa, Lime Rock, NHMS, and Watkins Glen are all still on the schedule, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
We also were told that we have a new series director – Kip Childress. It’ll be interesting to get to know him and see what he can bring to the Camping World Series.
