Helping Raise Money for a Good Cause
Last weekend while everyone else was out in California racing the Showdown, I spent some time at a telethon for the Center for Disabilities in Albany, NY. I have to admit, I didn’t really know what to expect going into it, and I’m happy to report that I had a really good time participating. I hope they ask me back next year. The Center for Disabilities raised a record $1.8 million dollars! They’ll be able to do a lot of good with that money.

During the telethon, I spent a great deal of time with some other sports names you may have heard of: Derrick Ward and Steve Smith of the New York Giants and Brian Bruney of the New York Yankees. It was pretty cool. By the end of the day, Steve Smith told me he was going to come to one of our races this year. I hope he does, because I know he’ll have a good time.

I also got a tour of the center and we were told some stories of the kids that are there. These kids are lucky to have this center, and if you ever get a chance to help out – do it! It’s a life changing experience. I know just being there was for me.

The winter break is over and school has started back up so I’ve been busy getting back into my studies. In case you didn’t know, I attend Fulton Montgomery Community College (Civil Engineering) in Canton, and its graduation year! Only a few months left to go!

I plan to get some pictures from this weekends event and when that happens we’ll get them posted right here. Check back!

That’s it for now.
