A New Year, Time For Resolution?
Happy New Year!
We’re a week into 2009 and I’m happy to tell you that I have not made a single resolution. Resolutions are mostly about intentions that often don’t get fulfilled. If I want to make a change in my life I work on it rather than promise it. I don’t need a new year to come about for me to try and succeed. You just need to back up your intention with commitment and conviction. When you decide to do it – do it. Don’t plan for it. This applies to anything: racing, smoking, weight loss, whatever.
Speaking of racing, we’ve made a decision here at Delaney Motorsports to try some ARCA races this year rather than invest in Late Model equipment that we’ll probably outgrow in a year or so. We’re going to take some off weeks from the Camping World Series East schedule and fill it in. I’m pretty excited about that. I have a lot of fun on the bigger tracks, which the ARCA Series really caters to. We’re not sure which track we’ll start this new plan out at, but when I know, I’ll let you know.
Later this month I’ll be taking part in a telethon that helps raise money for the Center for Disability Services in Albany, New York. They serve 15,000 kids and adults with disabilities in a 37 county area of upstate New York.
They are doing a lot of good things out there, but they need to raise some funds to keep doing it. If you’re in the area, the telethon will run on Fox 23 from noon to 7 p.m., and you can watch as I’ll be on there helping them out! I’ll also be participating in an autograph session with two players from the New York Giants so you may want to come down in person. The telethon is at the Holiday Inn Albany on January 25th. Would love to see you there!
I can’t believe its January already. This offseason is going by quick. Before you know it, we’ll be out there in Greenville kicking off the season. I guess for those of you who don’t like the cold and snow, that can’t come soon enough!
That’s it for this week. Until next time…
Dustin Delaney
