Hitting The Road (Course) at Watkins Glen
So everyone gets tutored once in a while right? Well I just did….and my tutor was Boris Said! For those of you who do not know who that is, he is one of the top road racers in the country. This past weekend at Watkins Glen, I had the opportunity to meet and to work with Boris. He gave me several good pointers on how to best navigate The Glen, and also some good advice on how to handle road courses in general. . Thank you Boris for all of your help over the weekend.
With Boris’s assistance, and also a great car from the team, I was able to finish 11th. This was pretty disappointing to me, as we ran in the top 10 all day, then suffered a suspension problems with around 10 to go. I raced my heart out to try to get back to the top ten, but after another caution, we only had about 5 green flag laps when I got back
We raced in South Boston over the weekend, and that turned out pretty good. We took home another top-10, but accomplished something that was much greater that day as well. I was the fastest car in practice all day. That was the first time that I had ever been atop the leader board in this series, making it pretty exciting. We had a great car, and the team worked really hard, so we are counting this past race as a success!
on the track. Good news is, Loudon is right around the corner, and that track proved to be the most successful last year. Hopefully it will be just as nice to us this year.
Well that is all for now, talk to you after Loudon!
